For Studies at the European University Institute (EUI)

The scholarship is awarded for a 4-year doctoral study at the European University Institute.

The scholarship is awarded in one of the following departments:

• Economics,

• Law,

• History and Civilization,

• Political and Social Sciences.

Applicant

An individual admitted to doctoral studies at the EUI.

Scholarship Amount

The scholarship is awarded for living expenses, including health insurance allowance and (one-time) travel expenses, in the amount determined by the EUI at the time of the public call. The scholarship holder does not pay tuition fees.

Duration of Scholarship

3 years, with the fourth year financed by the EUI.

Obligations

Completion of studies (obtaining the relevant degree).

Specifics

The admission procedure for doctoral studies at the EUI and the procedure for obtaining a scholarship from the Fund are two separate processes, namely:

• for admission to doctoral studies at the EUI, candidates apply within the deadlines and in the manner determined by the EUI. More information can be found on the EUI website.

• for obtaining a scholarship for doctoral studies at the EUI, candidates apply within the deadlines and in the manner specified in the Fund’s public call.

The scholarship amount, conditions, criteria, and selection criteria are determined by the public call, which also specifies the application deadline and the documentation that must be submitted by the applicant.

The public call is usually published in December for those beginning their studies in the following academic year.
